Stephen Barry
Stephen Barry has a diverse background that includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1988. Post-graduation, he worked as an engineer for General Motors in its EDS/Cadillac engineering division designing computer and manufacturing systems.
Stephen attained his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in New Orleans in 1992 and has found his passion in the practice of law.He has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Law School, New Orleans. He was also appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve as Judge Pro Tempore in the Traffic and Municipal Courts. His past experience includes serving as Deputy City Attorney with responsibility for civil trial litigation and risk management. He focuses on litigation and trial work in a range of civil tort litigation matters.
Stephen is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

Daphne McNutt Barry
Her varied practice includes representation of domestic and foreign clients in commercial litigation, casualty litigation and arbitration proceedings. She has experience in handling maritime and international contractual disputes, cases involving enforcement and defense of maritime lien claims, arrests and attachment of vessels and other maritime property, defense of maritime personal injury and cargo claims, and administrative proceedings before United States government agencies. She also has experience litigating insurance coverage disputes. Her appellate practice includes successful appeals at all levels of state court and in the federal courts of appeals.
Daphne has a dedicated passion for animals and performs pro bono legal services for the League in Support of Animals. She also frequently supports the local SPCA chapter.

W. Briggs Scott
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, W. “Briggs” Scott graduated from Mississippi College School of Law with an additional certification in Civil Law Studies. Upon acceptance into the Louisiana Bar Association and The Mississippi Bar, Briggs returned to his home state where he began handling a diverse range of insurance defense lines across Louisiana and Mississippi including general liability, auto liability, professional liability, employers’ liability and EEOC claims, premises liability, admiralty, and malpractice insurance.
For 10 years, his practice has concentrated on insurance coverage and defense, representing numerous regional and national carriers, local government agencies, private corporations, and individuals. He zealously advocates on their behalf both in and out of the courtroom, while endeavoring to consistently provide the personal service clients deserve. Briggs has litigated a large amount of homeowner’s and auto bad faith, first party, and third-party claims, and counseled on complex coverage evaluations and regulatory oversight.
In addition to Louisiana state courts, Mr. Scott has been admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, Mississippi state courts, and the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Mississippi

W. Trevor Smith
W. Trevor Smith was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After high school he attended Louisiana State University, where he graduated in 2005 with a double major in History and Political Science. Trevor earned his Juris Doctorate at the Southern University Law Clinic in Baton Rouge in 2010.
Trevor has experience in insurance subrogation, products liability, and personal injury. After graduating from law school, he was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2011. Trevor then began his career with the US Department of Justice working with the Civil Department, and later for the Environmental and Natural Resources Division, where he assisted with several multidistrict litigations, such as In re Katrina Breaches, Deepwater Horizon, Volkswagen Emissions, and In re Addicks and Barker (Texas) Flood-Control Reservoirs.
Trevor is licensed and admitted to practice in Louisiana, and he is a member of several legal associations, including the New Orleans Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Trevor currently resides in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans with his wife and two children. He is a member of several organizations in the city, including the Krewe of Thoth, and the Pete Fountain Half Fast Walking Club.

Wendell R. Verret
*Of Counsel
Wendell Verret acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and followed up with a Master of Arts in Political Science from Louisiana State University. Post grad, he worked as a legislative assistant in the Louisiana House of Representatives for Representatives Theodore M. Haik and Charles R. McDonald.
Mr. Verret went on to attain his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University Law School in Baton Rouge, serving afterwards as a law clerk for United States District Judge Richard T. Haik and United States Senior Judge Richard J. Putam.
He presently serves as Port Attorney for the Twin Parish Port District in Iberia Parish. He is also involved with the Steering Committee for the rebuilding of the Town of Delcambre and the surrounding community following Hurricane Rita. Mr.Verret is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Louisiana and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Verret currently serves as of counsel for the firm.
